Are You “CRAZY Busy”?

Everyone is "busy".

A lot of people are "CRAZY busy".

Some people add the disclaimer that this is "GOOD busy"....so that's...ok..?

Many of us (myself included) thrive on being busy. When our diaries are full and our to-do lists are long, it tends to give us energy and motivation. Often, this motivation comes from the fact that there is no other choice. If we contemplate NOT completing our work, fear and worry set in.

Can you relate to this?

September has been a "crazy busy" month for many of us. Returning from a quieter period over the summer, we have our targets and KPIs front and centre in our minds. This is also accompanied by the days getting shorter, the weather worsening, and the inevitable back-to-school/work colds.

If you would describe your work as "crazy busy" right now, how are you looking after yourself, mentally, emotionally AND physically?

Carving out any time for ourselves, when there is so much else to do, can often feel impossible, and like an unnecessary indulgence.

I am working with a few high-performing Recruiters and Business Owners at the moment. I meet each person for 50 minutes a week, at the same time each week, and you know what??

They have ALL remarked how good it feels to have a defined, safe space, where they can push everything else aside for an hour, and talk about what is going on for them - with no targets, no judgement, no goals, and no consequence.

- Worries
- Difficult people at work
- Relationship issues (family, friends, partner)
- Demons they are battling in their heads
- Self-doubt and 'Imposter Syndrome'
- Addiction (including phone addiction)
- Health concerns
- and many, many other things

If you want to be the best you can be, both at work and at home, you HAVE to look after yourself. This doesn't just mean going to the gym, eating well, getting plenty of fresh air and knowing your 'why'. It also means looking after your brain, and your emotional wellbeing - and the best way to do this is to TALK.

As a qualified counsellor who used to run a busy recruitment company, I can help.

If you would like to learn more, please contact me, in full confidence, for a private conversation with no obligations beyond this.

Don't end up working yourself to the bone, like these poor people here.
